Brother Firefighter Loses Home to Fire

On March 3rd, former House of Flame member and current Lieutenant (Engine 8 #1), Paul O'Conner, had his Calvert County home destroyed in a two-alarm fire. Thankfully, Paul and his family were unharmed.

Additionally, the North Beach VFD is hosting a St. Patrick's Day Dinner & Dance on Saturday, March 13, 2010, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the O'Conner Family. Finally, Paul MAY be in need of trades. At this point we are just gathering a list of those interested in helping out. Any interested member should contact Sgt. Sid Polish (BFC 2 #1 Aide) at richard.polish@gmail.com or 202-528-9245. Firefighters wishing to work for Lt. O'Conner will NOT be subject to ambulance or medic unit details.

The members of Engine 11, Truck 6, and the 4th Battalion Fire Chief would like to send our thoughts to Paul O'Conner and his family in this time of need. Platoons will be taking collections to assist Lt. O'Conner recover from this incident.
